FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR x FORMOSA ART SHOW
This Spring, Taipei will welcome the glamorous art event FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR and FORMOSA ART SHOW. These two art fairs will be held in the same week (May 13th-15th) two separated locations, Taipei, Expo Dome and the five stars art hotel Humble House Taipei. The dual art fair art organized by Formosa Art Fair Company Co. Ltd., They are the same organizer of Art Kaohsiung which is the biggest art fair in Southern Taiwan. FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR and FORMOSA ART SHOW aim to promote Taiwanese contemporary art and to create a high level platform for galleries, collectors and art academics to meet. There will be nearly 100 galleries from all over the Asia participating in this art festival in May this year !
FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR - the only solo shows art fair in Asia
In order to present a top quality and international art fair, the FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR committee decides to select participating galleries by invitations only. About 30 Asian leading galleries including Shugo Arts, Gallery Nomart, Japan, Gana Art, DongSanFan Korea, The drawing room, Manila, Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, will be showcasing their artists in the form of solo shows at the fair. Many of the prominent Taiwanese contemporary art galleries join FORMOSA 101 ART FAIR this year, includingProject Fullfill Art Space, Mind Set Art Center, Double Square Gallery, Nunu Fine Art, Carne Gallery, InArt Space, Da Xia…ect.. Moreover, each exhibitor is exclusively dedicated to contemporary art and they can only present one artist’s works with curator’s plan in the booth. Thus, Formosa 101 Art Fair will be the only ‘solo show’ art fair in Asia. In addition, the fair will have 5 sectors to present good quality of art Gallery sector, Curatorial sector, Video art sector, Public Art sector and special exhibition “MADE IN GERMANY.”
The committee is determined to enhance the connection between the commercial and academic spheres of art community. Through the dialogues between artist, art critic, and museum directors, the true value and concepts of art will be appreciated more and deeper.
FORMOSA ART SHOW - The finest hotel art fair in Taiwan.
As its first edition last year, FORMOSA ART SHOW has made an impressive debut to the art crowd in Taiwan. The total sales number is around 1.5 million USD. It attracted 6,800 visitors and over 300 Taiwanese important art collectors there. This year, FORMOSA ART SHOW will still take place at the five stars art hotel Humble House Taipei.
There will be 64 galleries participating, on 4 floors, 3 distinguished Sectors will be presented at FORMOSA ART SHOW this year. Sector “Classic and Focus ” invites prestigious galleries around the globe to present diverse aspects of modern and contemporary art that are also immersed in the quintessential classical art. Sector “Up and coming” focuses on artists under 40 years old who explore future trends by performing artistic experiments of high potential. Sector “Limited and unlimited” reinvestigates photographs, prints, sculpture, and videos. It explores unlimited possibilities from art works with limited editions, and opens up a new trend in art collection. The participating galleries are from all over Taiwan. They will present their potential art works together with galleries from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and China at the prestigious art hotel.
Spring Art Week in Taipei City
Despite of the struggle of economic recession, the total number of art fairs is still growing in Asia. The goal of FROMOSA 101 ART FAIR X FORMOSA ART SHOW is to create a platform to galleries and their good works to meet with art lovers. We anticipate to see how that dual art fairs will impact and inspire the dynamic of art ecology in Taiwan this May.
