Lugar de nacimiento: Godramstein, Bavaria, Germany

Lugar de defunción: New Orleans

Comentarios: He and his wife Eliza (b.France, c.1807) were in New Orleans as early as 1833 and by 1850 had four children under fourteen, all born in Louisiana. He made small historical and mythological paintings and resided in Louisiana until his death, although he is listed in directories only until 1856. Supposedly he suffered from bad eyesight in his later years. His surviving sketchbooks include drawings made in Paris as well as two sketches by his younger son Ernest, 1857, and by his older daughter Emma Elizabeth.
