1891 – 1893:Lived and worked in Tahiti, French Polynesy and elsewhere in the South Pacific.
1888:He travelled to Vincent van GOGH’s home in Arles, France. His stay was both traumatic and fruitfull for both artists. They learned a great deal from each other but were often at odds. Gauguin returned to Paris in December after Van Gogh’s "ear incide
1888:In Brittany he met Paul SERUSIER.
1887:With Charles LAVAL he travelled to Panama and Martinique.
1885:Returned to Paris, France leaving his family in Denmark.
1884:Had moved with his family to Copenhagen, Denmark.
1874:Began working with Camille PISSARRO, Paris, France.
1865 – 1871:Served in the merchant marine.
1851 – 1855:Lived and worked in Lima, Peru.
