Comentarios: Specialty: ceramics. A leader in the Cincinnati art pottery movement, McLaughlin discovered a method of replicating the French method of underglaze painting on faience that was adopted by Rookwood Pottery. She produced decorative metalwork and experimented with metallic effects on porcelain and later developed techniques for producing American Faience and Losanti, an important American contribution to Art Nouveau (see Cincinnati Painters of the Golden Age). Author of two books on pottery decoration, one on painting, and one on etching called Etching: A Practical Manual for Amateurs. She also contributed articles on china painting to The Art Amateur.
