Comentarios: At twelve years of age, he was in Paris painting flowers on fans and at twenty-one his first oil painting was accepted at the Salon. In 1896 he had his first exhibition in New York, which consisted entirely of floral subjects, and it was a great success, establishing him as a leading floral painter. In 1899 de LongprÈ bought a large Moorish-style house in Hollywood, where the acres of flowers about his home made it a local tourist attraction.
