Comentarios: Sister of Frederick Eckstein and daughter of Johann Eckstein (see entries). While teaching at Dunham's Academy in Lexington (KY) in 1825, she painted portraits of George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette for the Academy in honor of Lafayette's 1825 visit to America. She joined her brother in Cincinnati in 1826 and taught there until 1830, when she returned to teaching in Kentucky.
