Comentarios: Youngest in a family of artists, she was undoubtedly influenced by her father, Joseph Thoits Moore (see entry). At age eighteen she met a former Ohio friend, Robert Hosea in Louisiana and they married the same year. A steamboat captain, he later became a successful businessman and he and Harriet and their children belonged to the premier families in Cincinnati. Cofounder of the Ladies' Acad. Fine Arts, a forerunner of the Cincinnati Art Mus.
