The Tomb of Washington and the Falls of St. Anthony (MN) in Joshua Shaw's (see entry) Picturesque Views of American Scenery (1819) were after paintings by Captain Watson, R.N. A view of the Schuylkill River near Philadelphia after Captain J.R. Watson appeared in Cephas G. Childs' (see entry) Views of Philadelphia from Original Views Taken in 1827-1830 (1830). The artist may have been Joshua Rowley Watson, born 1772, commissioned post-captain in the Royal Navy in 1798, and on active service at least until 1818.
