Comentarios: Trained as an architect, he assisted Sir Joseph Paxton in the designing of the London Crystal Palace about 1851. He probably came to the United States with his brother, Alfred (see entry), about 1858 and was employed as an illustrator during the Civil War. His works appeared in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Weekly and Harper's Weekly,
