Comentarios: Important early Pueblo painter and leader of the San Ildefonso artists. Nephew of Crescencio Martinez. He painted at the School of American Research along with Fred Kabotie and Velino Shije Herrera and enjoyed a national reputation by the 1930s. He painted a wide range of subject matter.
