Comentarios: An African-American, as staff artist for New York magazine, he illustrated the Watergate scandal and the 1973 Arab-Israeli war. In 1994, he was commissioned by the US Postal Service to create a series of stamps featuring famous blues singers. He taught at the Parsons Sch. Design, NYC, for more than 20 years; and in 1996 became chairman of the Illustration Dept., Maryland Inst., College of Art.
