Comentarios: Immigrated to California with his family in 1889 and in 1891 established the Partington Art School in San Francisco, together with his father John H. Partington (see entry). He worked as a sketch artist for the San Francisco Examiner, and was curator for the Piedmont Art Gallery, Oakland. In 1916 a portrait commission took him to Philadelphia, where he remained for the rest of his life.
