Comentarios: Expressionist painter, renowned in Austria, where he formed several Secessions," including one in Gratz. Illustrated writings of Dostoevski, Balzac, Edgar Allen Poe and others. Left Austria for Switzerland in 1931, eventually establishing himself in Paris before moving to the U.S. He was the son-in-law of artist Frank Herrman (see entry), with whom he stayed in NYC and Elberon, NJ.
