Comentarios: He came from London where he painted inexpensive copies of famous portraits for the Polygraphic Society (1784-92). His attempt to sell these copies in America failed, and he became an itinerant portraitist who traveled along the Eastern seaboard from Nova Scotia to Charleston, SC, and up the Hudson River to Ontario. He painted in oil, usually on tin or wood. He died of a fever in a Savannah poor house.
