Comentarios: Was a muralist in Germany and Scotland before coming to U.S. in 1901 and executing mural commissions in NYC and Wash., DC. Settled in Southern Calif. in 1910, where he painted portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, and figurative works for the next thirty-five years. He was also known as Karl Jens.
