Profesión: Portrait and historical painter

Comentarios: Seems to have spent most of his of his life in Germany but Thieme-Becker suggests that he may have visited Philadelphia in 1850. The catalogue of the Pennsylvania Academy for that year shows that Jacobs exhibited his Judith and Holofernes" in Philadelphia in 1850, but it also gave his current address as Gotha. The painting was bought by the Academy and placed on permanent exhibition. In 1855, the artist's address was listed (by PAFA) as Germany, in 1858 as Dresden, and in 1863 as Gotha.
