Comentarios: An early urban realist painter, he began painting scenes of ghetto life in 1887, mostly in an idealized view. Traveled to Paris in 1896 and again in 1914. Myers was one of the founders of the AAPS, which organized the 1913 Armory Show in NYC. His wife was Ethel Myers (see entry). Auth.: Artist in Manhattan (autobio., 1940). Also appears as Meyers.
