Comentarios: Raised near the Onondaga Indian Reservation in New York State, he took his first of many trips West in 1884 to the Dakota Territory. Co-author/illustrator (with E.W. Deming): Sketching Among the Sioux," 1893; "Sketching Among the Crow Indians," 1894 (both articles for Outing Magazine); author: "With Gun and Palette Among the Red Skins," 1895 (illus. by Remington). He also worked as an illustrator for national magazines such as Century. His autobiography was entitled Indian Experiences (1943).
