Comentarios: While working under W.M. Chase he painted luxuriant still lifes and interiors; with his move to Connecticut in 1885 he turned toward Impressionist landscape painting bearing stylistic affinities with those of J.A. Weir and Willard Metcalf. In 1899, he painted in Alaska during the Goldrush.
