Comentarios: From 1935-39 she received a number of important government commissions for the Treasury Dept. Section of Painting and Sculpture. Began working in welded metal with Theodore Roszack in 1946. As her career developed, her sculpture became more abstract. Scaravaglione also had a long teaching career: Educational Alliance, 1925-; NY Univ.; Sarah Lawrence College; Black Mountain College; Vassar College, 1952-67. Preferred media: wood, stone, bronze, copper, terra-cotta.
