Art Paris Art Fair – 29 March / 1 April 2012 [27/03/2012]

The first rendez-vous of the Parisian art calendar in 2012 is Art Paris Art Fair which will open its doors to the public on March 29 with a number refreshing new features. Nearly 48,000 visitors are expected during the 4-day event.

Paris / London – forthcoming Impressionist & Modern Art sales [15/06/2010]

Fauvists at the National Gallery of Art [14/12/2004]

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fauvism, the National Gallery of Art (Washington) will be hosting a major exhibition of the works of this movement from December 12 2004 to May 30 2005.

Art market latest trends: resale lots [21/11/2004]

Following the latest New York sales, the Artprice Global Index of fine art, which uses repeated sales method, is up 18.2% on the year-ago period. USD 100 invested in an artwork ten years ago would now be worth an average of USD 153.Many art collectors are generating even higher returns through judicious deals at auction, making the most of the market’s current enthusiasm. To give an idea of some of the particularly lucrative transactions recently carried out, Artprice presents the following list of works that have come under the hammer at least twice:

Sotheby’s sets historic record at auction [10/05/2004]

Sotheby’s has just made art market history. As we have been predicting since January (see AMI, 26 January 2004), we now have a new all-time record price for an artwork at auction: USD 93 million thanks to Pablo Picasso. Once taxes and commission are included, this was also the first time a painting has broken USD 100 million.

Raoul Dufy [13/03/2003]

Visitors can admire the wide range of Raoul Dufy’s work at the Musée Maillol in Paris until June 16 2003. Dufy was one of the most prolific and varied painters of the last century. Most prized at auction are his light and colourful canvases.
