He settled in NYC in the early 1840s and became a leading banknote engraver and inventor of engraving machines, proprietor of the New York Bank Note Company and a founder of the Continental Bank Note Company. Author: Cycloidal Configurations, or the Harvest of Counterfeitors (n.d.) and A Description of the Present System of Banknote Engraving (1852).
