Comentarios: She began painting in her father's studio and became known for her fruit and flower studies. Hardy was also a teacher and instructed a number of women artists who also specialized in floral paintings. Several of her still-lifes were chromolithographed by Louis Prang & Co. in the 1870s. Among her students were Charlotte Baldwin, Grace Hemenway, Florence Jennison, Nellie Lincoln, Mary Merrill, Katherine Parker Stewart, and Emma Webb.
