SPRING ART SALON

Presented by Accessible Art Fair (ACAF)

20-22 April, 2018

L’ANCIENNE NONCIATURE

Accessible Art Fair is returning to Brussels, with a very special edition this spring: the Spring Art Salon. The salon will be taking place during one of the most important weeks on the art calendar in Brussels. The Spring Art Salon will be sticking to ACAF original mission of presenting emerging artists without gallery representation.

The Spring Art Salon will showcase the works by 25 artists in Salon style.

THE SPRING SALON CONCEPT

Originally the name of the official art exhibitions organised by the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture (Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture) and its successor the Academy of Fine Arts (Académie des Beaux-Arts). From 1725 the exhibitions were held in the room called the salon carré in the Louvre and became known simply as the salon. By the mid nineteenth century the academies had become highly conservative, and by their monopoly of major exhibitions resisted the rising tide of innovation in naturalism, realism, impressionism and their successors. OUR VENUES IN 2018

In April 2018, we are bringing the concept of Salon de Printemps (Spring Salon) to Brussels. This unique event be held at the L’Ancienne Nonciature in Sablon, formerly the embassy of Vatican, a neoclassic 15th century venue rebuilt in 1827.

The Accessible Art Fair 2018 will take place at BOZAR, 4-7 October where 60 artists will be present.
