The current Lee’s work reflects the schools of thought that influenced the history of Chinese classical paintings. Xieyi, the expressionistic style that achieved recognition during the Ming dynasty. The Chinese classic paintings are frequently employed in animated ink strokes to depict the emotions associated with classical portrayals of landscape, human interactions or wildlife scenes. Rabbit or hare, like the present artwork is the wildlife commonly painted to the traditional Chinese ink paintings existed since centuries ago in times of Chinese dynasties. This animal is reputed as deriving life origin from the vital essence of the Moon in Chinese legend, to the influence of which luminary it is consequently subject.
