Provenance : Norrköping (east of Sweden) private collection – Bordeaux collection - Condition Good. Swedish painter, draftsman and sculptor, part of the artist group Göteborgskoloristerna, which under the influence of the French post-impressionists cultivated the language of color as their main means of expression. He was also inspired by Edward Munch's wavy lines and was one of the few members of the group who suited large and complicated figure compositions. Student of Tor Bjurström in Gothenburg in 1922–1925 and Per Krohg in Paris in 1925–1926, followed by study trips to France, Spain, Italy and Germany, among others. His great breakthrough came with solo exhibitions in Stockholm and Gothenburg in 1935. In a delicate, diffuse color scale, he primarily painted landscapes and figure pictures. Later he worked with a more lush decorative color and also made some frescoes.
