Pietro Roselli was a pupil of Antonio Balestra. Member of the painters guild in Venice in 1725 and 1726 and in 1732. His works can be found in the churches of San Felice and San Simeon grande in Venice. His works have been confused with those of the early works of Giovanni Battista Piazzetta. Due to the 1980 Piazzetta publication of Prof. George Knox , the drawings that have been give securely to Rosselli the "Apotheosis of Saint Mark", in the Janos Scholz Collection (N.Y) and another in the National Museum in Washington, a "Flight into Egypt" in a private collection and another "Apotheosis of Saint Mark" formerly with Yvonne tan Bunzl in London in 1978.
The drawing will be published in a forthcoming article on Pietro Roselli by Prof. Lino Moretti, Venice.
