This three-panel trio featuring male figures on the beach and has been in the private collection of the artist. The pop style is graphic, abstract, hard-edged and dominantly in red and blue. Charles Pachter painted in a studio in Miami four months out of the year during the period of 1993 to 1999 and this particular work is one of the largest he produced. Often referred to as Canada's Warhol, Charles Pachter is a leading contemporary Canadian artist.
A painter, print maker, sculptor, designer, historian, and author, his work is in major public gallery collections. Pachter is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier of France’s Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee medal. His paintings are in public and private collections around the world. Those of the Queen, moose, and maple leaf flag are pop icons of Canadian art.
