In shiny hot pink, two vertical rectangles sit side by side ‘in sync’ in this elegant wall sculpture by California artist, Lori Cozen-Geller.
Cozen-Geller’s work is minimalism, and her use of simple geometric shapes belies their deep emotional meaning. Synchrony was created as a tribute to the relationship she shares with her husband.
“I met my husband when I was 14. We grew up together. We are synchronized. Our core values are totally in sync. Although there is a definite space between us, we line up emotionally so well. I chose the colour of hot pink because it is a happy colour.”
Lori Cozen-Geller
Lori Cozen Geller lives in Venice Beach and acquired a BA from the University of Southern California. This first piece took shape within hours of a profound loss in her life--her father's passing. The artist translated her feelings of love and sadness onto a scrap of paper, the blueprint for her first sculpture. Her work is held in private and public collections in North America.
